affirmations: let’s go to the dictionary
affirmations are a declaration of the truth. those kind, encouraging words we speak to ourselves to spur us on to greatness in our new role of motherhood. okay, some days, just to spur us on…
if you are a new mom with a love language of affirming words, it is so necessary to give yourself a pep talk using those encouraging, uplifting words every morning. cheer yourself on. be a cheerleader for you, for your success.
examples of affirming words like this:
“yeah, i’m doing great at this mom thing.”
“it’s hard some days, but i’m doing it.”
“every day is new and full of surprises and i am figuring it out.”
some of my favorite affirmations
here are some of my favorite affirmations for new mamas. speak these words over yourselves daily as often as needed. talk to that girl in the mirror. you recognize her. you see her. that new mama (with very little sleep) doing an amazing job at becoming a mom!
“i can be a mess and still be a good mom.” (my personal favorite)
“when i need help, there are people i can turn to for advice and support.”
“my baby and i are learning together.”
“the best i can do is good enough.”
“i am allowed to enjoy this stage, even when it’s hard.”
i love this quote from c.s. lewis: “children are not a distraction from more important work. they are the most important work.”
as new moms, we can forget the importance of what we are doing. raising the next generation. you are a new mom raising a newborn baby. wow.
are you wondering what a postpartum doula does? here is a great explanation.
postpartum days can be a roller coaster of emotions. if you struggle speaking affirming words over yourself, postpartum support tennessee is a great way to talk through those emotions in a support group with other new moms to find the goodness in those early days of motherhood..
