thankful heart

so thankful for grandparents and making art with grandson

what are you thankful for? let me know in the comments. here is my list for today.

i am so thankful that january is behind us. that month of 31 dark, overcast days felt like an entire year! whew. thankfulness is something i always look for in myself and my life. i fill my journal with gratitude almost daily. it is a practice that has improved my outlook on life and things i am hopeful for. it encourages me to look for the good. here is my entry from today.

i am grateful for grandparents.

my grandparents were the best at listening and loving me right where i was at that time, in whatever mood i was in. as a grandparent myself, i love my relationships with each of my grandkids and of course, that connection can always be improved. i am a work in progress. fun fact: i am named after both of my grandmothers. who else can say that?

i saw this poem on thankfulness and it still challenges me in some of the areas mentioned.

“be thankful”

a poem.    author unknown.

be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire. if you did, what would there be to look forward to?

be thankful when you don’t know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

be thankful for the difficult times. during those times you grow.

be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.

be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.

be thankful for your mistakes. they will teach you valuable lessons.

be thankful when you’re tired and weary, because it means you’ve made a difference.

it’s easy to be thankful for the good things. a life of rich fulfillment comes to those who

are also thankful for the setbacks.

gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. find a way to be thankful for your troubles,

and they can become your blessings.

i am filled to the brim with gratefulness for each of you. ~grammie doula | laura swift
