well, let me tell you.
grammie doula: i describe myself as a tall and soft grammie with messy bed hair wearing jeans, keens, and white shirts.
i have always loved every part of motherhood. and the reason i studied nursing was to help take the fear out of childbirth for families. labor and delivery was my first love and after twenty-five years, i discovered birth photography. in 2020, i became a doula so i could still support my birth clients and bring my camera along. i fell in love with doula work and especially postpartum doula. i wanted each new family to have the best start possible.

a few of my favorite things
my favorite flower is the sunflower and i love having my hands busy in the soil of gardening.
i like movies with a happy ending, (yes, i subscribe to the hallmark channel), cream and sugar with my strong coffee, and milk chocolate.
my favorite things about the postpartum period
my favorite part of my postpartum doula work is hearing about the birth experience from the mother’s perspective and helping answer all the questions after the birth and bringing home a baby.
would you like to schedule a free get-to-know-me call? maybe you have questions about what a postpartum doula does exactly?
i offer free 15 minute consultations. email me. hello@grammiedoula.com
my favorite part of the newborn experience was rubbing my baby’s head: that softness around the top and back of the head, that swirl of hair. i think i may have rubbed off some of my baby’s hair…. and i loved smelling my baby’s head! haha. taking in that awesome newborn baby smell. doesn’t everyone love how they smell?
tell me something you loved about those first weeks/ months with your baby. ~laura / grammie doula
